Mansoura University Ranks One of the Top Five Egyptian Universities According to Leiden World University Ranking for 2019

Prof. Ashraf Abdel Basset announced that Mansoura University has occupied a distinguished position among the top 5 Egyptian universities according to Leiden World University Ranking for 2019. Out of 963international universities, five Egyptian universities have been included in this ranking out of total 30000, the number of universities that met with the requirements of this ranking. First, the results of Leiden ranking showed that the top highest Egyptian Universities in terms of distinguished international publications in 10% of international journals from 2014 to 2017 are: Cairo University published 194 researches and ranked 341 out of 963. Ain Shams University published 105 researches and ranked 582 out of 963. Mansoura University as it published 97 researches and ranked 681 out of 963. Alexandria University published 91 researches and ranked 730 out of 963. Zagazig University published 72 researches and it ranked 834 out of 963.

Second, according to the results of the Leiden Rank for 2019, the top five Egyptian universities that have distinguished publications and research projects in partnership with the industry between 2014 - 2017 are: 1- Cairo University published 217 researches. 2- Ain Shams University published 142 researches. 3- Alexandria University published 104 researches. 4- University Mansoura published 68 researches. 5- Zagazig University published 39 researches.

Third, according to the results of the ranking of Leiden for 2019, the top five Egyptian universities that have distinguished publications in partnership with international universities during from 2014 to 2017 are: 1. Cairo University published 5749 researches. 2. Ain Shams University published 3248 researches. 3. Alexandria University published 2759 researches. 4. Mansoura University published 2702 researches. 5. Zagazig University published 1779 researches.

It is worth mentioning here that the assessment of Leiden University Ranking is based on papers published in the Web of Science which is an online subscription-based scientific citation indexing service originally produced by the Institute for Scientific Informationcs. It provides a comprehensive citation search. Later it was maintained by Clarivate Analytics. It provides a comprehensive citation search. It gives access to multiple databases that reference cross-disciplinary research.

The ranking does not rely on books, conference booklets and research papers published in non-indexed journals in the Web of Science database.

Leiden Ranking also uses a set of bibliometric indicators that provide university-level statistics on the impact factor , scientific collaboration, publication in open access sources and gender diversity.
Finally, the sciences included in this assessment were Medicine and Health Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, Mathematics and Computer Sciences, Basic sciences and Engineering, Social Sciences and Humanities.
