Mansoura University participates in the opening ceremony of the 1st Virtual Career Forum at the Egyptian Universities 2020

Prof. Ashraf Abdel-Basset, the president of Mansoura University participated today on Monday 28 th September 2020 in the launching of the virtual career forum at the universities UCCD 2020. The events of the forum were opened by Prof. Khaled Abdel-Khafar, the minister of higher education and scientific research.

 

The attendees were: Francis J. Ricciardone, the president of the American University in Cairo and Dr. Ashraf Hatem, the counselor of the American University in Cairo, Mrs. Leslie Reed, the director of USAID in Egypt, and 10 presidents of Egyptian national universities. There were 40 companies who participated in offering job opportunities and training in the event which is hosted by the university centers for career development. 

 

The university centers for career development host the forum which is a project funded by USAID and performed by AUC in 10 universities:

Alexandria, Ain Shams, Aswan, Beni suef, Mansoura, Monofia, Minia, Madinat Elsadat, Sohag, and Zagazig.

 

The virtual career forum of career development centers at the universities 2020 is a virtual event via internet in which business men meet the university student in a virtual environment and they use chat rooms and teleconference, webcasts and webinars or emails to exchange information about the job vacancies. The applicants, those latest years' students and fresh graduates upload their C.V and browse the sectors of the companies with a direct communication with companies' representatives. Besides, they can download the advertisements of the companies and attend the webinars.

 

The virtual fair uses a dynamic platform that allows the business men to avoid the traditional ways of job application. Through this triple platform via the internet, the business men and the applicants can communicate with each other like the realistic direct communication.
