Final grades of passing or failing are estimated as follows:

First: passing grades

Distinction

90% or more of total marks.

Very Good

From 80% to less than 90% of total marks.

Good

From 65% to less than 80% of total marks.

Pass

From 50% to less than 65% of total marks.

Second: failing grades

Failure

From 35% to less than 50% of total marks.

Failure

Less than 35% of total marks.

Students pass to the next academic year if they passed all subjects or failed in two subjects at most, wheather in the current semester or in any previous semester. In such case students are admitted to a make-up exam in the subjects they failed in April of the following academic year. They pass such subjects with the general grade of “pass”. Students of the final year who failed in no more than two subjects are admitted to are-take exam in November of the following academic year. In case they failed again, they are allowed to take the exam in the subjects they failed during the term in which this subject is being taught until they pass such subjects.

The final grade is the total grades of the four years of study. Top achievers are classified as such.
