The Foundation Stone Laying for a Number of Educational and Medical Projects at Mansoura University with Total Cost 400 Million Egyptian Pounds

Today on Tuesday 6th May 2021, Prof. Ashraf Abdel-Basset, President of Mansoura University laid the foundation stone for a number of educational and medical projects with the total cost of 400 million Egyptian pounds. A foundation stone was laid for an expanding building in an extension for the Center of Oncology on an area of 660 square meters. The attendees were: Prof. Tamer Abou Elsaad, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Mohamed Hegazy, the Executive Director of the University's Hospitals and Medical Centers, Prof. Waleed ElNahas, Director of the Center, the former directors of the center, deputy directors of the center and a number of heads of the departments.

The building consists of two basements and a ground floor as well as 8 floors as follows: the first basement is radiology department which consists of Radiotherapy equipment, waste mincer, and power plant. The second basement is stores department and it consists of central stores. The ground floor is for the reception of the patients and the main pharmacy of the center. The first floor is pediatrics clinics and consists of 7 medical examination clinics, administrative rooms, treatment rooms and radiology rooms. The Second Floor is for surgery clinics and consists of 10 medical examination clinics. The Third Floor is for internal diseases and consists of 10 medical examination clinics. The fourth Floor is blood diseases clinics and consists of 10 clinics for blood diseases and the laboratories. The Fifth and the Sixth ones are for administrative works and consist of administrative offices for the employees and workers of the center .The Seventh and Eighth ones are for boarding house and it consists of 10 rooms in each one.

A Foundation Stone was laid for an extension of the Faculty of Computers and Information Sciences on an area of 400 square meters with the total cost 75 million Egyptian pounds. The Attendees were: Prof Ahmed Abou-Elfotouh, the Dean of the Faculty, the vice-deans of the faculty and heads of the departments. Prof. Ahmed Abou ElFotouh pointed out that the building consists of a basement, a ground floor and 7 upper floors for the accepted students. In addition to expanding the number of special educational programs at the faculty as the current capabilities are not suitable for the increasing number of students. The expansions include 4 lecturer halls for 500 students or more, a number of 15-20 computer laboratories, 5 specialized laboratories, examination hall, seminars hall, office of teaching staff members, and administrative offices.

The President of the University laid the foundation stone for the central students building at the Faculty of Engineering on an area of 2150 square meters and the attendees were Prof. Mohamed Abdel-Azeem, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Vice-deans of the faculty and heads of the departments. The building consists of a basement, a ground floor and eight floors which include lecturer halls, big theater and central laboratories for all specializations. In addition to, a central services building for the students of the faculty of Engineering and a big exhibition for presenting the graduation projects for all specializations. Besides, the building consists of a number of specialized research laboratories in all engineering fields. Prof. Mohamed Abdel-Azeem, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering clarified the nature of the building that leads to dividing the project into two stages: the first stage is establishing the concrete structure with the total cost 72 million Egyptian pounds and the second stage is finishing and equipping the laboratories with the total cost approximately 130 million Egyptian Pounds.
