Laying the foundation stone of the liver transplant building - Mansoura University

On 26th April 2017, both prof/ Mohamed Kenawy - President of Mansoura University, and prof/Ahmed Shaarawy - Governor of Dakahlia, laid the foundation stone for the new expansions of the Liver Diseases and transplantation Building at the Gastroenterology Surgery center - Mansoura University.

The laying of the foundation stone for the new building comes after the donation by one of the charity people with 15 million pounds to build the new building.

Prof/ Mohamed Abdel Wahab, presented about the importance of the new expansions of the liver diseases and liver transplantation building to eliminate the waiting lists, so that the center can perform its mission in the treatment of liver patients, pointing out that the center includes a set of special doctors and nurses.

He added that the liver transplantation program began in 1996 with one case a week and the program was developed to grow to two cases a week.

Its worth to mention that, the new building includes 7 floors, the first floor is for the outpatient clinics, the second floor and the third floor are for intensive care, the fourth floor is for educational and administrative offices for doctors and administrators, and three floors with 60 beds for patients.

On his side, prof/ Kenawy, confirmed that the new building is an addition to the medical system inside Mansoura University and will eliminate the waiting lists for patients who suffers from diseases and liver transplantation.

Adding that two cases are currently being transplanted weekly and there are more than 200 cases on waiting lists, and that the university seeks Life for every patient.
