A team at the Faculty of Engineering, Mansoura University, won second place with a robot project and a mobile application to help mothers of children with ADHD, the team qualified for the final stages in Dubai, UAE.

The student team at the Faculty of Engineering, Mansoura University “Maxel”, won 2nd place in Egypt IOT and AI competition and qualified for the finals in Dubai this year.
The team won the competition at the Egyptian level out of 200 teams from various universities in Egypt. They participated in a project entitled “Dealing with ADHD in children & Spreading awareness among their parents”. The team designed a robot and a mobile application named “ Maxel”. They designed a challenge that deal with ADHD especially the type of inattention, as children with this case can’t concentrate continuously, because their attention is greatly distracted by external influences. Therefore, the project is an application on the child’s mother’s phone through which she gives orders, and also a suitable smart robot that deals with children, dividing those orders into a set of small steps with follow-up. Each step is in addition to identifying the child’s psychological state through the robot and spreading the concept of awareness of ADHD through the phone application to facilitate the mother’s dealings with her child in the various aspects of his life.
The team consists of students from the Department of Electronics and Communications Engineering: Eng. Ahmed Al-Metwally, Eng. Mahmoud Omar, Eng. Mahmoud Tolaba, Eng. Ingy Fawzi, Eng. Siham Samir, Eng. Muhammad Khaled, and Eng. Ingy Abdullah. The project is supervised by Dr. Iman Abdel Halim, a lecturer at the Department of Electronics and Communications Engineering.
