The first scientific and student forum of the Faculty of Nursing at Mansoura National University “A look at the future of health care leaders”

On February 21, 2024, the Faculty of Nursing at Mansoura National University organized the first scientific and student forum entitled “A Look at the Future of Health Care Leaders” under the patronage of Prof. El-Sayed Ahmed Abdel Khalek, former Minister of Higher Education and Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Prof. Cherif Youssef Khater, President of Mansoura National University. In the presence of Prof. Kawthar Mahmoud, Head of the Nursing Syndicate and member of the Senate, Prof. Raiefa Allam, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, faculty deans and program directors at Mansoura National University, deans of nursing faculties and educational institutes in the Delta region, and directors of hospitals and medical centers.

Prof. Cherif Youssef Khater said that the political leadership paid great attention to the fourth generation of universities, which are national universities, in order to be an extension of government universities. He also praised the role of the nursing team members and their efforts. In medical care, he pointed out that nursing represents 70% of the efficiency of the medical system, we need to develop academic methods, skills, and training to raise the capabilities of students in the Faculty of Nursing, who in the future will be prepared as health care leaders to achieve competition at the local and global levels.

Prof. Kawthar Mahmoud said that the political leadership in Egypt is keen to take care of the nursing staff and provide all aspects of support and care in view of their efforts for patients and crises, and that Mansoura National University has 500 students in the Faculty of Nursing who are a project for health care leaders in Egypt.

Prof. Raiefa Allam indicated the Faculty of Nursing’s keenness to hold the forum to be a competitive forum for students to reveal their creativity, ideas, and innovations, so that the forum would be competitive locally and internationally, as the vision of the forum was in line with the vision of the university and faculty for Egyptian nursing to be a pioneer in the world through its excellence in education, training, research, scientific and clinical practices for faculty members and students to work to improve the quality of health care. It is the profession of the white army who will be health care leaders.

The forum’s activities included many sessions discussing the challenges facing health care, artificial intelligence, creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship for Egyptian nursing, and a first aid course in the faculty’s laboratories in cooperation with the Dakahlia Nursing Syndicate.
