Mansoura University President Attends "Scientific Excellence Day" Celebration at the Faculty of Law, Emphasizing: Excellence is a Culture and a Foundation for Legal Awareness and Human Development

Prof. Cherif Khater, President of Mansoura University, attended the "Scientific Excellence Day" celebration held in the Prof. Mohi El-Din Awad Auditorium at the Faculty of Law. The event was also attended by Prof. Ahmed Gamal El-Din Moussa, former Minister of Education and Higher Education; Prof. El-Sayed Abdel-Khaleq, former Minister of Higher Education; Prof. Tarek Ghalwash, Vice President of the University for Graduate Studies and Research; Dr. Rita Viktorija Herncár, Ambassador of Hungary to Cairo; the Cultural Attaché at the Embassy; Dr. Walid El-Shenawy, Dean of the Faculty of Law; Prof. Ibrahim Abdullah, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Law for Graduate Studies; Prof. Tamer Saleh, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Education and Student Affairs; Prof. Alaa El-Tamimi, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development; as well as deans, vice deans, heads of departments, members of the judiciary, members of the House of Representatives and the Senate, Dr. Moatasem Bellah El-Bahrawy, General Supervisor of the International Students Office, and his deputies, Dr. Shaimaa Abdel-Wahab and Dr. Ahmed Salah. Faculty members, teaching assistants, researchers, and honorees.

The ceremony was organized as part of the faculty’s commitment to fostering a culture of academic excellence, in line with the university's strategy to support scientific research, enhance the quality of legal education, encourage researchers to be creative and innovative, and prepare generations of legal professionals qualified to serve society and uphold the values ​​of justice and human rights.

The ceremony began with the national anthem, followed by a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by student Amir Mohamed Fouad. A short film was then shown, highlighting the college's efforts in supporting scientific research, developing postgraduate studies, and encouraging academic innovation.

During his address at the ceremony, Prof. Cherif Khater said that the Faculty of Law at Mansoura University "is not merely an educational institution, but a source of value and meaning, a firmly established school in shaping responsible legal thought that connects knowledge with purpose, and the text with justice. He noted that the Scientific Excellence Day is "an occasion to celebrate knowledge and its practitioners, and to reflect upon a full year of work, research, and achievement." He added that academic excellence "is not achieved by chance, but is the fruit of patience, diligence, and unwavering determination," noting that the university is working to provide an educational environment and research climate that aligns with the Egyptian state's vision of human development, empowering individuals with modern knowledge tools, and enhancing their role in serving society. He affirmed that the Faculty of Law "has produced and continues to produce prominent legal and judicial leaders, thanks to the commitment of its professors and its firmly established academic values." He expressed his gratitude to the dean and faculty leaders for their efforts in organizing the celebration and for the faculty's distinguished contributions to supporting scientific research.

Prof. Tarek Ghalwash, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, said that the Faculty of Law at Mansoura University represents a model to be emulated among faculties, given its academic discipline, seriousness, and continuous commitment to quality standards. He pointed out that excellence in any educational institution "is only achieved when it becomes a daily passion practiced by faculty and students with a spirit of discipline, humility, and responsibility." He emphasized that the Faculty of Law has successfully combined all these values, placing it at the forefront of faculties capable of achieving scientific leadership and preparing graduates with high levels of knowledge and professional competence.

Prof. Walid El-Shenawy, Dean of the Faculty of Law, said that the Scientific Excellence Day represents "a celebration of the culture of excellence itself, and of the value of knowledge, which has always been and remains the cornerstone of nation-building." He added that honoring researchers "is not an end in itself, but rather the beginning of a greater responsibility to serve justice, uphold the rule of law, and develop legal thought to meet the challenges of our time." He added that the Faculty of Law at Mansoura University strives to enhance its academic programs, develop its postgraduate studies system, and embrace international experiences, stressing that this approach "reflects the Faculty's vision of preparing for the future and working under a national umbrella whose motto is excellence."

Prof. Ibrahim Abdullah delivered a speech in which he emphasized that this year's celebration "is not merely about honoring a select group of researchers, but rather a renewal of the commitment to ensuring that the Faculty remains a model of excellence in legal education, scientific research, and community service." He added that the postgraduate studies sector is working to "elevate the scientific research system to align with the vision of the university, the Ministry of Higher Education, and Egypt's Vision 2030," noting that the honored researchers "have proven that the Faculty of Law is capable of cultivating minds capable of critical and analytical thinking and producing advanced legal knowledge."

During his speech, Lieutenant Colonel Dr. Ahmed Reda, representing the Egyptian researchers, expressed his deep gratitude to the professors of the Faculty of Law, affirming that they are partners in the graduates' success and excellence. He pointed out that the Faculty of Law at Mansoura University is among the most prominent legal institutions in Egypt and the Arab world, possessing distinguished academic staff and leading educational resources. He also asked his colleagues to continue their research work as the most important path to supporting development efforts and building a knowledge society, contributing to the advancement of the nation and solidifying its position among nations.

During her speech, Palestinian researcher Ayat Jawad, representing international students, expressed her deep gratitude to Egypt for embracing the sons and daughters of the Arab nation and providing them with a solid academic environment that contributes to shaping the future. She emphasized her profound appreciation to His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi for his continuous support of international students and his role in strengthening Arab brotherhood and consolidating Egypt's position as a leading destination for education in the region. She also thanked Mansoura University and its academic leadership, praising the faculty for the academic and humanitarian support it provides, enabling students to achieve their aspirations and confidently embark on broader horizons Out of excellence and creativity.

The ceremony honored Prof. Cherif Khater, the university president, and Prof. Tarek Ghalwash, the vice president. It also included honoring Prof. Ahmed Gamal El-Din Moussa, former Minister of Education and Higher Education, and Prof. El-Sayed Abdel-Khaleq, former Minister of Higher Education. In addition, distinguished academic departments were recognized, along with the best research published in the college journal according to citation rates, faculty members who earned their doctorates during the 2024/2025 academic year, teaching assistants who earned their master's degrees during the same year, outstanding researchers who won research project funding from the Scientific Research and Missions Fund, and those who received awards at the university and international levels. Distinguished visiting researchers from Arab countries and those who earned their law diplomas in 2024/2025 were also honored.
