Agreement of Cooperation between Mansoura University and University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover, Foundation

Mansoura University represented by Prof. Al-Sayed Ahmed Abd el-Khalek signed an agreement of cooperation between Mansoura University and University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover, Foundation (Tiho-Hannover) in Germany that begins in 2013 through a cultural, scientific, technical cooperation protocol. The agreement came after the visit of Mansoura University delegation headed by Prof. Mohamed Ahmed Yousef Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Dr. Sahar Abdul Rahman a lecturer at viruses Department who got her M.D degree from University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover, Foundation in 2012. The agreement is valid for five renewable years.
This agreement comes within the cooperation framework between the two universities in order to develop and strengthen scientific and medical relations and out of the belief that culture and education constitute the basic foundation of higher education. It focuses mainly on developing scientific backgrounds of young researchers, exchanging students, conducting joint research, exchanging cultural programs, and participating in scientific conferences between the two universities.
It is worthy mentioning that Hannover Veterinary Medicine University in Germany is one of the most prestigious and oldest specialized universities in the field of veterinary medicine in the world. It was established in 1778 as a specialized clinic for the care and treatment of the royal class horses. Later on, it gradually became a university that included six specialized clinics for different animals and also nineteen specialized institutes in all academic specializations related to the veterinary medicine study.
For activating this Agreement, the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine intends to invite the President of the German University and the delegation accompanying him to visit Mansoura University in 2013. Also, Mansoura University is preparing a set of young researchers to travel to the Veterinary Medicine University in Germany for training for a month, as well as preparing for a scientific project to be funded through the agreement with Hannover Veterinary Medicine University.




In order to promote further the existing cultural and educational cooperation between Turkey and Egypt, Mansoura University, represented by Prof. Al-Sayed Abdel-Khalek and Fatih University, represented by Prof. Sherif Ali Tekalan signed an agreement protocol on educational and scientific cooperation for five renewable years. This agreement protocol was included in the visit of the Turkish delegation Mansoura University on Saturday 29/12/2012.
The cultural attaché of the Sultanate of Oman in Cairo organized a celebration ceremony on Monday, 17/12/2012 to honor the professors and scientists of Mansoura University and Egyptian universities for their scientific contributions which lead to the progress of the Arab world.
Nanotechnology Center in Mansoura University succeeded in getting a capacity building grant for one year provided by the Science and Technology Development Fund (STDF) worth 4.78 million pounds. Only 17 projects were selected out of 90 projects which competed for this grant at the level of the Egyptian universities.
