Mansoura University represented by Prof. Al-Sayed Ahmed Abd el-Khalek signed an agreement of cooperation between Mansoura University and University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover, Foundation (Tiho-Hannover) in Germany that begins in 2013 through a cultural, scientific, technical cooperation protocol. The agreement came after the visit of Mansoura University delegation headed by Prof. Mohamed Ahmed Yousef Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Dr. Sahar Abdul Rahman a lecturer at viruses Department who got her M.D degree from University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover, Foundation in 2012. The agreement is valid for five renewable years.
This agreement comes within the cooperation framework between the two universities in order to develop and strengthen scientific and medical relations and out of the belief that culture and education constitute the basic foundation of higher education. It focuses mainly on developing scientific backgrounds of young researchers, exchanging students, conducting joint research, exchanging cultural programs, and participating in scientific conferences between the two universities.
It is worthy mentioning that Hannover Veterinary Medicine University in Germany is one of the most prestigious and oldest specialized universities in the field of veterinary medicine in the world. It was established in 1778 as a specialized clinic for the care and treatment of the royal class horses. Later on, it gradually became a university that included six specialized clinics for different animals and also nineteen specialized institutes in all academic specializations related to the veterinary medicine study.
For activating this Agreement, the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine intends to invite the President of the German University and the delegation accompanying him to visit Mansoura University in 2013. Also, Mansoura University is preparing a set of young researchers to travel to the Veterinary Medicine University in Germany for training for a month, as well as preparing for a scientific project to be funded through the agreement with Hannover Veterinary Medicine University.
 


 

Under the auspices of Prof. AlSayed Abd Al-Khalek the President of Mansoura University and in the cooperation framework between Mansoura University and Alfateh University in Turkey, a medical and engineering delegation of Alfateh faculties  deans headed by  Prof. Sherif Ali the president of Alfateh University visits Mansoura University on Saturday December29, 2012
This visit comes in the framework of strengthening scientific cooperation between the two universities. This initiative has been started by Prof. AlSayed Abd Al-Khalek the President of Mansoura University during his visit to Alfateh University in the middle of this year. It aims at exchanging experiences, staff members, and students as well as holding scientific conferences and workshops.
The delegation will go on a tour to visit the  Faculty of Medicine, specialized medical centers, the Faculty of Engineering, workshops, laboratories, the Olympic village, and the  (CITC) communications and information technology center. After the tour, a scientific seminar entitled “ The Turkish Experience in Developing Education” presented by President of Alfateh University  will be held in Alsanhoury Room at the Faculty of Law at 2:00 p.m.


 


Nanotechnology Center in Mansoura University succeeded in getting a capacity building grant for one year provided by the Science and Technology Development Fund (STDF) worth 4.78 million pounds. Only 17 projects were selected out of 90 projects which competed for this grant at the level of the Egyptian universities.
A team of distinguished faculty members from various colleges of the Mansoura University, headed by Prof. Mohamed Nabil Saad Eddin Sabri, director of the Nanotechnology Center applied for the project. The team includes Prof. Ahmed Shakir, director of the Urology and Nephrology and Center,  Fikry Risha (Faculty of Science), Prof. Magda Akl (Faculty of  Science), Prof. Mahmoud Abu Dahab (Faculty of Science), Prof. Yahia Allazek (Faculty of  Science), Dr Elham Abdel-Moneim (Faculty of Pharmacy), Dr. Hossam Saad Eddin (Faculty of Engineering), Dr. Ali Fuda (Faculty of Engineering), Asmaa Al-Awadi (Faculty of Engineering), Amira Sobhy (Faculty of Medicine) Shaimaa Ibrahim (Faculty of Engineering), Mohammad Aladdin (Faculty of Science).
