Mansoura University President Receives Vertebrate Paleontology Center’s Team

The Center Presents the University President with a Copy of “The Story of Egyptian Dinosaurs”

Prof. Cherif Khater, President of Mansoura University, received Prof. Hesham Sallam, founder of the Mansoura University Vertebrate Paleontology Center, and Dr. Shorouk El-Ashqar, a researcher at the center and author of the book “The Story of Egyptian Dinosaurs.” The center's team presented him with a copy of the scientific publication, part of the “Read Scientific” series, which was featured at this year's Cairo International Book Fair.

The University President expressed his appreciation for this scientific effort, emphasizing Mansoura University's pride in the research contributions and knowledge production of the Vertebrate Paleontology Center, which reflects the strength of the center's scientific school and its role in supporting the university's scientific research system.

He also praised the pioneering role of the Mansoura University Vertebrate Paleontology Center in enhancing the university's international standing through its unique research achievements and its entry into the Guinness World Records, affirming that these successes reflect the strength of the university's scientific school and its ability to achieve global impact. He pointed out that the center is a leading national model for localizing specialized scientific disciplines, given its internationally recognized research achievements and its growing role in disseminating scientific culture and raising public awareness of the history of natural sciences in Egypt, in line with the university's mission to serve the community and build knowledge.

Prof. Hesham Sallam explained that the book "The Story of Egyptian Dinosaurs" is an extension of the center's vision to broaden the impact of vertebrate paleontology beyond the narrow confines of academia and to responsibly disseminate scientific research findings to the public sphere, contributing to building a sustainable scientific awareness that is no less important than the scientific discoveries themselves.

Dr. Shorouk Al-Ashqar emphasized that the publication aims to present a simplified scientific narrative of the story of Egyptian dinosaurs, combining the scientific and human dimensions, and reflecting the research experience that developed within a supportive institutional framework that provided young researchers with training and development opportunities and participation in international research projects. This meeting comes in the context of the ongoing institutional achievement witnessed by the Mansoura University Vertebrate Paleontology Center, which includes building specialized research cadres, expanding the scope of scientific publication, and enhancing the community presence of science, thus supporting Mansoura University’s position as a leading academic and research institution at the national and international levels.
