Mansoura University Maintains its Global Lead, Ranking Second Among Egyptian Universities in the 2026 Shanghai Ranking

The Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), also known as the Shanghai Ranking, announced its 2026 ranking, placing Mansoura University second among Egyptian universities and within the 601-700 range globally. This achievement reinforces the university's leading position both nationally and internationally.

Prof. Cherif Khater, President of Mansoura University, affirmed that the university's ranking in the Shanghai Ranking reflects the development witnessed in its scientific research system, the improvement achieved in the quality of academic output, the expansion of international research collaborations and partnerships, and the efforts exerted to develop the educational and research process. Prof. Cherif Khater congratulated the Mansoura University community on this achievement, expressing his appreciation for the efforts of faculty members, researchers, students, and administrative staff, which contributed to the university reaching this ranking. He also extended his thanks and appreciation to the Postgraduate Studies and Research Sector, headed by Prof. Tarek Ghalwash, and to all sectors, colleges, and departments that participated in supporting scientific research and enhancing academic performance.

The university president emphasized that this achievement is part of Mansoura University's strategy to develop education and scientific research, support innovation, and raise the quality of academic output, in line with the directives of the Egyptian state, Egypt's Vision 2030, and the strategy of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. He noted that developing the education and scientific research system is a continuous priority for the university, linked to the quality of performance and community service.

He added that the university is working to expand international research cooperation and partnerships, attract scientific talent, develop the research environment, and support innovation and entrepreneurship, all of which support the quality of academic output and strengthen the university's role in serving the community and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.

Prof. Tarek Ghalwash, Vice President of Mansoura University for Graduate Studies and Research, explained that Mansoura University's ranking in the 2026 Shanghai Ranking reflects the development of its scientific research system, the efforts made to improve the quality and impact of research output, and the encouragement of researchers to publish in prestigious international scientific journals, in addition to expanding academic and research cooperation with international universities and institutions.

He pointed out that the university's continued presence in the (601-700) category globally confirms its efforts to develop its scientific research system and improve the research environment, which supports the quality and impact of scientific output and opens up broader avenues for academic and research cooperation with international institutions and universities.
