President of Mansoura University participates in the first ALECSO Forum for the twinning of Arab universities in Tunisia

Prof. Cherif Youssef Khater - President of Mansoura University participated via “Zoom Technology” in the opening of the first ALECSO Forum for the twinning of Arab universities, which was held in Tunisia.

Mansoura University’s participation in this important forum comes within its role to enhance cooperation and exchange experiences with external institutions academic, innovation and scientific research. President of Mansoura University participated in the forum sessions on the 2nd  day in the 7th  working session, which was chaired by Prof. Adel Diaaf: Director of the International Cooperation Office at the University of Tripoli, with the participation of 6 universities from Libya, Mauritania and Yemen, by giving a presentation about the university with a short introductory video and then explaining the most important achievements and faculties that have achieved quality and excellence, number of published research, citations, and international ranking.

The forum was organized under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Wld Aamr, Director General of the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization and Chairman of the Preparatory and Scientific Committee, Dr. Mohamed Sanad Abu Darwish, Director of the Department of Science and Scientific Research, in its first session at the organization’s headquarters in the capital, Tunis.

The forum opened its events on Tuesday 10/17/2023 and continued for two days in partnership with Arab and international universities and institutions, which comes within strengthening joint Arab scientific research, to implement the “Arab Strategy for Scientific, Technological, and Innovation Research,” which the 28th  Arab Summit entrusted the organization with the task of following up on its implementation, in coordination with the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States, with the participation of (37) presidents of Arab and international universities and institutions and the presence of heads of diplomatic missions accredited in Tunisia.

The first ALECSO Forum for the Twinning of Arab Universities aims to reach the actual and scientific contribution of ALECSO, Arab universities, and relevant Arab and international bodies and institutions to achieve the general goals of the Arab Strategy for Scientific, Technological Research and Innovation, in addition to the actual and practical implementation of the strategy’s fulfillment mechanisms, as well as supporting the initiatives of the participating Arab universities that achieve the strategy, and establishing more participatory and cooperation between ALECSO, Arab universities, and Arab and international academic and research bodies and institutions. It also aims to facilitate the exchange of scientific visits and mobilities among members of Arab universities from academic and research bodies ,to transfer experience and knowledge and increase Arab scientific production, in addition to expanding aspects of cooperation between them, in a way that serves common goals and works to achieve sustainable development.
