Mansoura University is looking to activate the dual bachelor's degree with the University of Louisville, USA

Prof. Cherif Youssef Khater - President of Mansoura University received on the 11th  of June 2023 Prof. Ayman Sabry El-Baz - Head of the Department of medical and bio engineering at the University of Louisville in the United States of America to discuss the activation of the double scientific degree at the bachelor's stage 2 + 2 between the University of Louisville and Mansoura University. In the presence of Prof. Mohamed Attia Al-Bayoumi - Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Ashraf Swilam, former Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, Prof. Mohamed Abdel Azim, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Ashraf Mamdouh Shoma, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, and Prof. Magdy Zakaria Rashad - Dean of the Faculty of Computers and Information, Where many topics were discussed, including: Activating the dual academic degree at the 2 + 2 bachelor's stage between the University of Louisville and Mansoura University in the fields of engineering, medical, biological, computer and communications at the Faculty of Engineering, and the medical informatics in the Faculty of Computers and Information.

It is noteworthy that the student who joins this agreement studies two years at Mansoura University and two years at the University of Louisville, either in the United States of America or at its branch at the International University of El-Alamein in the new city of El-Alamein, where the student obtains two bachelor’s degrees, one from Mansoura University and the second from the University of Louisville in the aforementioned disciplines. Master's degree 1 + 1 and PhD 2 + 2 between Mansoura University and the University of Louisville in the Faculties of Medicine and Engineering, and discussing the preparation of the artificial intelligence laboratory, which the university had previously approved to be the Center of Excellence for Artificial Intelligence in the medical fields, which is located in the three medical centers.

Prof. Cherif Khater was keen to discuss the idea of establishing a faculty for interdisciplinary studies at the university in the near future, to be in the interprograms of postgraduate studies or the undergraduate level.

The meeting comes within Mansoura University's keenness to achieve the national strategy for higher education in Egypt 2023 through the development of inter-educational programs that are compatible with future jobs and the development of skills in the labor market.
