President of Mansoura University inaugurates the modernization and renovation of the intensive care unit at the Nephrology and Urology Center

Prof. Cherif Youssef Khater - President of Mansoura University inaugurated the modernizing and renovating the intensive care ward at the Nephrology and Urology Center, Mansoura University within developing the medical units in the center.

In the presence of Prof. Ashraf Shoma - Dean of the Faculty of Medicine ,Prof. El Shaarawy Kamal - Executive Director of Hospitals and Medical Centers, Prof. Bassem Salah - Director of Nephrology and Urology Center, Prof. Muhammad Abu Al-Ghar - Head of the Urology Department, Prof. Ayman Al-Refai - Deputy Director of the Center.

Prof. Bassem Salah gave a detailed presentation on the development processes, including modernizing and renovating the intensive care wing in the main center, which is over 28 years old, consisting of two units (A & B) and includes 18 beds, including a dialysis unit within the intensive care for inpatients of emergency cases. In addition, an isolation room equipped to be used for respiratory isolation was prepared, and the implementation took place within a short period of no more than 3 months. The intensive care wing in the center was modernized and developed at a total cost of 7.5 million pounds, as a donation from a member of civil society, and the implementation was supervised through the engineering department of the center.

The entire ward is equipped according to the latest international standard medical specifications, the intensive care ward is equipped to the latest technological systems, and the walls are equipped with anti-infection materials in accordance with international standards for intensive care.

Prof. Cherif Khater expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to all the staff of the center for their continuous efforts to implement the project of modernizing and renovating the intensive care unit in the center within a short period, pointing out that it contributes greatly to developing and raising the efficiency of the infrastructure of the center to provide the best medical service to patients
