President of Mansoura University receives Ambassador Hisham Badr, Assistant Minister of Planning for Strategic Companies and General Supervisor of the Egypt Award for Government Excellence

Prof. Cherif Youssef Khater, President of Mansoura University, received Ambassador Hisham Badr, Assistant Minister of Planning for Strategic Partnerships, Excellence and Initiatives, General Supervisor of the Egypt Award for Government Excellence, General Coordinator of the Smart Green Projects Initiative, and his accompanying delegation, during his visit to Mansoura University to follow up on the work of judging the university’s internal excellence awards for the institution category, distinguished work teams, creativity and innovation.

Prof. Cherif Khater said that the university aims, in its strategic plan, to achieve excellence in order to achieve Egypt’s 2030 vision for sustainable development within the patronage and interest of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of Egypt, with the Egypt Award for Government Excellence and the Egyptian state’s keenness to stimulate the spirit of competition among administrative employees and encourage their creative ideas. He pointed out that the university has a long history and a bright future as it was established fifty years ago in 1972.

He reviewed the most important features of Mansoura University, as it is the first government university accredited by the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education, and it includes 18 faculties of various specializations in which 170,000 students study at the bachelor’s level, and 40,000 students at the postgraduate level, and 10 faculties obtained academic accreditation, including the Faculty of Medicine. It obtained the renewal of its accreditation for the 3rd  time in 2023, and 20 specific programs were accredited, including the accreditation of the first two programs of their kind at the level of Egyptian universities, the legal studies programs in English and French.

He also reviewed the university’s achievements and its obtaining various awards and multiple centers in various fields and specializations. The university got first place in digital transformation, the Communications and Information Technology Center also got 1st  place for the best interactive website, and the Faculty of Engineering got first place in the fculties category at the university level. Egyptian universities, the best innovative university at the level of Delta universities, and 1st  place as the best environmentally friendly university.

Ambassador Hisham Badr praised the cooperation of the university’s leadership and its pioneering role in applying the university’s standards of excellence and its active participation in the journey of excellence with the award during its previous sessions and the achievements it achieved in various scientific and research fields in all local and international forums. He added that excellence is a continuous journey and not only winning moment. He also said that the launch of the Internal Excellence Awards in its second session aims to complete the process of deepening the concept of excellence and enhancing the spirit of competitiveness to contribute to the development of human capabilities and create a qualitative shift in institutional performance to achieve the quality of life of citizens and enhance the leadership and competitiveness of the Egyptian state.

The delegation of the Egypt Award for Government Excellence included Mrs. Soha Saeed, Executive Director of the Egypt Award for Government Excellence, Dr. Mohamed Mohamedy, Director of Evaluation and Quality, Prof. Mohamed Abdel Salam, Director of Educational Institutions Awards, Prof. Mohamed Abd Rabbo, Dean of the Institute of Productivity and Quality at the Arab Academy, Mrs. Israa Hassan, Specialized Awards Officer, Mrs. Rehab Mohamed, Communications and Marketing Officer, Dr. Hoda Ghallab, Head of the Best Faculty Team, Dr. Hatem Al-Saifi, Head of the Work Teams Award Team. The meeting was attended by the Internal Awards Management Team at Mansoura University, Prof. Nisreen Shalaby.
