Prof. Cherif Khater:

  • Strict adherence to timetables for completing all work and equipment on projects.
  • We continue to work on implementing more future projects aimed at raising the level of services and achieving the aspirations of the academic community.
  • We are committed to providing the best medical services to citizens as we build the new republic, and within the framework of the university's commitment to its medical leadership.

Prof. Cherif Youssef Khater, President of Mansoura University, accompanied by Prof. Mohamed Abdel Azim, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, inspected a number of educational and medical construction projects at the university on April 16, 2025, to monitor progress according to the specified timetables. This is in line with the university's policy of developing university facilities in all sectors, transforming them into 4th -generation universities and universities with environmentally friendly designs. This is in addition to developing the infrastructure in the medical sector to maintain its leadership as a stronghold of medicine in Egypt.

The tour included the Electronic Testing Center at the Faculty of Commerce, the new building of the Faculty of Nursing, the Digital Training Center, the Medicine Center at the Faculty of Pharmacy, the Experimental Research Building at the Faculty of Medicine, and the Chest Diseases Department in the Rehabilitation Building.

Prof. Cherif Khater highlighted Mansoura University's commitment to implementing the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and following up on the implementation of the plan developed in light of the National Strategy for Higher Education and Scientific Research (Egypt Vision 2030) to develop educational services aimed at raising their level and achieving the aspirations of the academic community. He emphasized the continuation of work on implementing more future projects within the framework of achieving the university's vision. He also emphasized his commitment to following up on development projects in the medical sector, to rapidly introduce them to medical services and meet the needs of patients in light of the continuous increase in visitor numbers. This reflects the university's commitment to its medical leadership and its societal role in providing the best medical services to citizens as we build the new republic.

During the tour, the university president monitored the ongoing work and implementation phases of the projects, working with the various parties responsible for supervising the implementation of each project within the university and the implementing companies. He emphasized the need to adhere to the specified timetables, increase progress rates, and complete all work within the specified timeframes and with the highest required quality.

The tour began with an inspection of the 5th center for electronic testing at the Faculty of Commerce, attended by Prof. Mona El-Dakroury, Dean of the Faculty, and Prof. Samah Hafez, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development. The center includes five main testing halls, each containing four subsidiary testing halls, with a total capacity of 1,555 computers. The center is spread across three floors, with an area of 850 square meters per floor. The center is equipped with the latest equipment, including modern alarm and fire extinguishers, providing a suitable environment for testing and teaching.

This was followed by an inspection of the new building project for the Faculty of Nursing, where the implementation of the concrete structure of the building, built on an area of 700 square meters, was monitored. The seven-story building will accommodate the number of students admitted to the college and increase its capacity. The building includes lecture halls, multiple halls, and administrative offices.

The President then headed to the Digital Training Center, in the presence of Dr. Ayman Gomaa, Director of the Center, where he inspected the maintenance and development work on the existing building, scheduled to be completed within the next few months. The work includes 22 training halls, 18 administrative offices, and three workspaces for the center's visitors. The project also includes a comprehensive development of the maintenance workshop department, the building's interior and exterior facades, and the implementation of an integrated monitoring and fire-fighting system.

The center is considered one of the oldest training centers locally and regionally. Founded in 1982 under the name "Scientific Computing Center," it has evolved into a leading provider of training and technological services. The center aims to develop the capabilities of students, graduates, and faculty members through accredited courses in computer science, programming, networking, accounting, design, and human resources. It also provides maintenance and technical support services, and organizes internationally accredited tests. The center boasts an advanced digital infrastructure and international partnerships.

Prof. Cherif Khater then headed to the Faculty of Pharmacy to inspect the Drug Discovery and Research Center project, in the presence of Prof. Khaled Bashir, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research; Prof. Hani Qenawy, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Jenny Jehan Nasr, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs; the Faculty’s program directors; and Dr. Saad El-Din Mustafa, Project Director.

The project, built on an area of 350 square meters, consists of three main laboratories where all phases of drug development and discovery are carried out according to approved scientific protocols. The project targets faculty members and researchers from both within and outside the faculty. The center consists of three integrated sub-laboratories, designed to adhere to the highest international quality standards for biological research laboratories. They are also equipped with a complete fresh air system and an advanced gas fire alarm and suppression system to protect lives and property. The construction phase has been fully completed, and the center is currently being equipped with scientific equipment in preparation for its entry into service at the beginning of the next academic year.

The President then headed to the Faculty of Medicine to inspect the construction of the Experimental Research Building, which consists of a ground floor and four upper floors, with an area estimated at approximately 440 square meters. The building was attended by Prof. Alaa Wafa, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research, and Prof. Fikry Salem, the project's engineering supervisor.

The Experimental Research Center development project is a significant project within the university's scientific research system. The center provides research and training services to a wide range of researchers in the fields of medicine, pharmacy, dentistry, and science, both within and outside the university. This makes it a shining point at Mansoura University, which requires developing its infrastructure to accommodate the requirements of the research process, in line with quality assurance and accreditation requirements.

The tour concluded with a visit to the convalescence building at the main university hospital to inspect the maintenance and development work on three floors dedicated to the Chest Diseases Department. The visit was attended by Prof. Ahmed Abdel Jalil, Deputy Director of the hospital, and Prof. Hind El-Haddad, Deputy Director of the hospital.

The project includes comprehensive maintenance of civil, electrical, and mechanical works, gas systems, and the building's facade. The project also includes equipping an endoscopy unit, a sleep medicine unit with a capacity of four beds, a pulmonary function unit with a similar capacity, a pharmacy, and an administrative wing, in addition to two sections for patient accommodation with a capacity of 48 beds. It is expected to enter medical service within the next few months.
