In the presence of the Egyptian Attorney General and the Governor of Dakahlia, Mansoura University President invites the University Council to convene

The Mansoura University Council convened on May 8, 2025, under the chairmanship of Prof. Cherif Youssef Khater, President of Mansoura University. The meeting was attended by Counselor Mohamed Shawky, Attorney General of the Arab Republic of Egypt; Major General Tarek Marzouk, Governor of Dakahlia; Prof. Sayed Abdel Khalek, former Minister of Higher Education; Major General Khaled Eid, Director of National Security for the Eastern Delta Region; and leaders of the Public Prosecution, along with a number of judicial and security leaders and members of the University Council. The extraordinary session discussed ways and mechanisms for implementing the cooperation protocol signed with the Public Prosecution.

Prof. Cherif Khater welcomed His Excellency Counselor Mohamed Shawky, the Egyptian Attorney General, to the University Council, emphasizing that signing the cooperation protocol with the Public Prosecution represents a strategic step that reflects the university's pioneering role in supporting state institutions by strengthening academic and professional partnerships. He added that this cooperation contributes to achieving integration between the two sides in the fields of education, scientific research, and training, through the exchange of expertise and the provision of academic and scientific resources. This enhances the efficiency of the justice system and contributes to the preparation of legal and administrative cadres capable of keeping pace with rapid developments.

In his speech, Counselor Mohamed Shawky welcomed and expressed his appreciation for the members of the Council and expressed his gratitude for being hosted by this prestigious university, a beacon of knowledge and science, and a beacon of thought and creativity. He expressed his pride in being a member of this university and a graduate of its Faculty of Law, which has been an essential part of his academic and professional career.

The Attorney General extended his sincere congratulations to Mansoura University on the occasion of its 50th anniversary since the establishment of the faculty and the graduation of generations of scholars who have contributed to building the nation. This is a great achievement, the fruit of sincere efforts, wise policies, and a clear vision for achieving academic and research excellence. He thanked all those in charge of this university for their continuous efforts to advance the university and enhance its status.

The Attorney General expressed his pleasure at signing the cooperation protocol with Mansoura University, emphasizing the excellence of the training programs offered by Mansoura University in various related fields, whose implementation mechanisms will be implemented in the near future.

In his speech, Major General Tarek Marzouk welcomed Counselor Mohamed Shawky's visit to Mansoura University and Dakahlia Governorate, expressing his pride in his affiliation with the University. He emphasized that Mansoura University, with its rich history and distinguished staff, is witnessing remarkable development in all scientific and research fields and occupies advanced positions among world universities thanks to its distinguished faculty members and the wise leadership of the university president. Thanks to this harmony, it has become a beacon of knowledge in Egypt and the Arab world. Thanks to its presence, Dakahlia has become the capital of medicine in Egypt. He added that the university is a key partner and the scientific arm of the governorate in numerous projects, and plays a societal role in cooperation with us. We look forward to more.

The Council reviewed the mechanisms for implementing the cooperation protocol with the Public Prosecution, through action plans presented by the University Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research and the deans of the Faculties of Arts, Education, Law, Tourism and Hotels, Engineering, Science, Computers and Information, and Medicine.

Mansoura University Council also unanimously decided to award Counselor Mohamed Shawky Ayyad, Attorney General of the Arab Republic of Egypt, an honorary doctorate degree in recognition of his distinguished contributions and outstanding efforts in supporting the justice system, consolidating the rule of law, and his effective role in developing the judicial system and enhancing the protection of public rights and freedoms.
