Mansoura University President Receives Libyan Cultural Attaché to Discuss Cooperation

Prof. Cherif Khater, President of Mansoura University, received Mr. Ismail Al-Hadi Abid, the Cultural and Academic Attaché at the Libyan Embassy in Cairo, to discuss ways to enhance bilateral cooperation and follow up on the affairs of Libyan students studying at the university.

The meeting was attended by Prof. Tarek Ghalwash, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, and Dr. Al-Mu'tasim Billah Al-Bahrawi, General Supervisor of the International Students Administration, along with the Deputy General Supervisors: Dr. Shaimaa Abdel-Wahab and Dr. Ahmed Salah. Also present were Dr. Alaa Al-Garhi, Director General of Graduate Studies, Dr. Alia Makia, Director of the International Students Office, and Mr. Mohamed Al-Nagar, Director of the International Students Office. From the Libyan side, Dr. Mahmoud Shehata, Head of the Supervision Department at the Cultural Attaché's Office, and Ms. Ambarka Saeed, an employee in the Supervision Department, were also in attendance.

Prof. Cherif Khater welcomed the Libyan delegation, emphasizing his pride in the fraternal relations that unite the Egyptian and Libyan peoples and the ongoing cooperation between them in the educational, cultural, and scientific fields. He noted Mansoura University's commitment to supporting academic cooperation with Libyan institutions and providing all forms of support to Libyan students within the university, including educational services, administrative support, and academic supervision. He added that Mansoura University's internationalization strategy is based on expanding its international partnerships and attracting more international students. He pointed out that the university currently hosts approximately 15,000 international students from various nationalities, reflecting the confidence of regional and international communities in the university's standing and the excellence of its academic programs.

Mr. Ismail Al-Hadi Abeid expressed his pleasure at visiting Mansoura University, affirming his appreciation for the distinguished role the university plays in supporting Libyan students and the comprehensive educational and service environment it provides. He pointed out that Egyptian-Libyan relations are deeply rooted, extending through a long history of fraternal ties. He emphasized that Egypt remains the elder brother to all Arab nations, and that Mansoura University is a leading educational destination highly regarded by the Libyan side, thanks to its strong academic programs and advanced services for international students. He noted that the Cultural Attaché is working to enhance academic cooperation with the university and open new horizons for Libyan students in various scientific disciplines.

Prof. Tarek Ghalwash discussed the importance of developing avenues of cooperation in postgraduate studies and scientific research, indicating the university's readiness to support Libyan students in their various programs and provide the necessary facilities to ensure they achieve the best academic results.

The meeting addressed several topics related to Libyan students at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including mechanisms for academic follow-up, the facilities provided to them, and proposals to develop aspects of administrative support and university services, within the framework of the strong relations and ongoing cooperation between the two sides.
