President of Mansoura University Participates in Launch of Egyptian-French Scientific and Academic Cooperation Day at Cergy University in Paris

Prof. Cherif Khater, President of Mansoura University, participated in the Egyptian-French Scientific and Academic Cooperation Day, held at Cergy University in Paris, in the presence of Prof. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research. This participation reflects the depth of historical relations and the richness of joint cooperation between Egypt and France in the fields of higher education and scientific research.

The forum was inaugurated with the attendance of leaders in higher education and scientific research from both the Egyptian and French sides. Emphasis was placed on the importance of the frameworks and agreements signed between the two countries, particularly in the areas of joint scholarships and grants, student exchange, and dual degree programs, which contribute to strengthening academic cooperation between Egyptian and French universities.

Prof. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, affirmed that Egyptian and French universities have completed their preparations for the launch of joint cooperation programs. He noted that this forum reflects the strength of bilateral relations and contributes to supporting the exchange of academic and research expertise, as well as enhancing dual degree programs, joint scholarships, and grants, which will positively impact the quality of education and human capacity building. The specialized sessions and workshops also addressed ways to enhance innovative funding for scientific research, support entrepreneurship, and strengthen the link between scientific research outputs and the needs of sustainable development, in addition to supporting the integration of Egyptian universities into international academic and research networks.

The Egyptian-French Scientific and Academic Cooperation Day witnessed broad participation from the presidents of Egyptian and French universities and representatives of research institutions. Future cooperation strategies in higher education and scientific research were discussed, aiming to enhance the competitiveness of academic institutions in both countries.

On the sidelines of the event, several agreements and memoranda of understanding were signed with a number of Egyptian and French institutions and universities. Among the most prominent was a memorandum of understanding between Vatel International Business School, a leading institution in tourism and hospitality education in France, and the Supreme Council of Universities and the University Support and Development Authority, aimed at strengthening academic and scientific cooperation in the tourism and hospitality sector.

Mansoura University was among the universities that signed the memorandum of understanding, along with Alamein International University, Alexandria University, and the Capital University, reflecting its active role in expanding international cooperation and supporting specialized academic partnerships. Several other agreements were also signed between Egyptian and French universities in the fields of pharmacy, agriculture, and applied languages, in addition to agreements for student exchange and academic cooperation, which enhances the network of international partnerships and supports joint educational programs.
