President of Mansoura University Discusses with President of Future University in Iraq the Launch of Master of Law Programs in Iraq Starting in the Second Semester
Virtual Meeting to Activate Cooperation Protocol and Arrange Academic and Logistical Aspects
Prof. Cherif Khater, President of Mansoura University, held a virtual meeting via Zoom with Prof. Hassan Shaker Magdy, President of Future University in Iraq, to activate the academic cooperation protocol signed between the two institutions. This meeting paved the way for the launch of Master of Law programs offered by Mansoura University's Faculty of Law in the specializations of Public International Law and Administrative Law at Future University's campus in Babylon Governorate, Iraq. Students will not need to travel to Egypt, and degrees will be awarded by Mansoura University. Studies will commence in the second semester of the 2025-2026 academic year.
The program will be offered at Future University's campus in Babylon Governorate, Iraq. The meeting was attended by Prof. Tarek Ghalwash, Vice President of Mansoura University for Graduate Studies and Research; Prof. Muzaffar Sadiq Hassan, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision at Future University; Prof. Walid El-Shenawy, Dean of the Faculty of Law at Mansoura University; Prof. Ammar El-Husseini, Dean of the Faculty of Law at Future University; Prof. Ibrahim Abdullah, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Law for Graduate Studies and Research; and Dr. Al-Mu'tasim Billah El-Bahrawi, General Supervisor of the International Students Office at Mansoura University.
Prof. Cherif Khater welcomed the leaders of Future University Iraq, expressing his pride in the existing cooperation between the two universities. He emphasized that this partnership represents a successful model of Arab academic integration and the transfer of scientific expertise, contributing to the development of the higher education and scientific research system. He explained that the meeting was held to begin implementing the cooperation protocol, ensuring the launch of the hosted graduate programs according to the highest accredited academic standards. This aligns with the national strategy for higher education and scientific research and Egypt's Vision 2030, which aims to strengthen international and regional partnerships and establish Egypt as a regional hub for education and scientific research. He emphasized Mansoura University's commitment to activating its international and regional partnerships in a practical manner that serves to develop educational programs and enhance joint scientific research. He noted that hosting the postgraduate programs at Future University in Iraq is a true embodiment of the cooperation protocol, enabling the transfer of Egyptian academic expertise to their Iraqi counterparts and preparing qualified scientific personnel according to international standards. He also explained the university administration's commitment to continuously monitoring all organizational and academic details through a specialized executive committee to ensure the success of the hosting experience. This reflects a positive image of Egyptian higher education and strengthens mutual trust between Arab educational institutions.
Prof. Hassan Shaker Magdy expressed his appreciation to Mansoura University and its leadership for their fruitful cooperation and continuous support. He affirmed that Future University in Iraq considers this partnership a strategic step in the development of higher education in Iraq. He pointed out that the cooperation with Mansoura University represents a qualitative addition to Future University's postgraduate programs, given its prestigious academic standing and long-standing scientific expertise. He emphasized the commitment to preparing all academic and logistical aspects to ensure the efficient and high-quality launch of the hosted programs.
Prof. Tarek Ghalwash said that the Postgraduate Studies and Research Sector at Mansoura University is meticulously monitoring the implementation of the protocol's provisions to ensure adherence to academic regulations and the quality of the educational process. He explained that the hosted programs will be implemented according to a comprehensive academic framework that includes the organization of courses, schedules, and evaluation mechanisms, thus achieving the highest levels of academic discipline.
During the meeting, various organizational and academic arrangements for implementing the hosted programs were discussed. These included preparing class schedules, organizing academic courses, and coordinating between faculty members at both universities, in addition to the administrative and technical aspects related to the commencement and smooth operation of the programs.
The meeting also addressed the logistical and organizational arrangements necessary for the start of the academic year. This included preparing course timetables, organizing classrooms and academic equipment, and coordinating with faculty members who will teach in the hosted programs. These arrangements aim to ensure the smooth operation of the educational process and the application of the academic standards adopted by Mansoura University within the premises of Future University in Iraq.
The attendees also discussed the issue of equivalency of Iraqi students' degrees from the Egyptian Supreme Council of Universities, a prerequisite for officially commencing studies.
Prof. Muzaffar Sadiq Hassan discussed the importance of ongoing coordination between the two sides to complete the legal and academic procedures within the specified timeframes. He explained that this step is crucial to ensuring students' readiness to enroll in the hosted programs without obstacles and reflects both universities' commitment to implementing the established regulations.
Prof. Walid El-Shenawy affirmed that the Faculty of Law at Mansoura University strives to offer hosted master's programs according to the latest scientific curricula, keeping pace with contemporary legal developments and contributing to the preparation of legal professionals capable of serving their communities with high efficiency.
Prof. Ammar El-Husseini indicated that the Faculty of Law at Future University has completed its preparations to host the hosted programs, including equipping classrooms and providing a suitable learning environment that guarantees the achievement of the academic partnership's objectives.
Prof. Ibrahim Abdullah confirmed the continuation of academic coordination regarding courses and evaluation mechanisms, ensuring integration between the two sides and maintaining a unified academic standard for the programs offered.
Dr. Al-Mu'tasim Billah Al-Bahrawi explained that the International Students Office at Mansoura University is monitoring the admission and equivalency procedures for Iraqi students and providing the necessary administrative and technical support to ensure the smooth commencement of studies and a stable educational experience for them.
In this context, it was reaffirmed that the Master of Laws programs offered by the Faculty of Law at Mansoura University, specializing in Public International Law and Administrative Law, will be hosted at the Future University campus in Babylon Governorate, specifically at the Faculty of Law. This will eliminate the need for students to travel to Egypt. Degrees will be awarded by Mansoura University and recognized by the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. Admission numbers will be determined according to specific academic criteria, and studies will begin in the upcoming second semester.
The meeting concluded with an emphasis on continuing coordination meetings in the coming period to monitor the implementation of the agreed-upon measures. This will ensure the launch of the hosted postgraduate programs at Future University in Iraq within a structured academic framework that strengthens scientific and research cooperation between the two universities.
