President of Mansoura University witnesses the introductory seminar on the “Women Lead in the Egyptian Governorates.”

Prof. Cherif Youssef Khater, President of Mansoura University, Dr. Ayman Mukhtar, Governor of Dakahlia, and Major General Ihab Hamed, Consultant to the Executive Director of Government Relations at the National Training Academy, witnessed on October 17, 2023, the introductory symposium on the program “Women Lead in the Egyptian Governorates” held in the conference hall of the governorate’s building, which is presented by the National Training Academy in partnership with the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development.

In the presence of Prof. Amina Shalabi, Rapporteur of the National Council for Women, Undersecretaries of the Ministry, Directors of Service Directorates, and women leaders in the governorate’s executive apparatus, Mansoura University, the National Council for Women, and many institutions.

Prof. Cherif Khater, said that the keenness of the political leadership for women to hold many judicial positions and various prosecutorial bodies, in a precedent that has not occurred in the history of Egypt, since the establishment of the Egyptian state, women have not held the position of judges who decide disputes and issue rulings. Now she holds the position of Deputy Public Prosecutor and investigates various crimes.

He added that Mansoura University was keen to empower women in all leadership and administrative positions within the university at percentages ranging from 25 to 40%, including vice presidents of the university, deans of faculties, vice deans, heads of departments, and directors of administrations, in implementation of the directives of the President of the Republic.

Emphasizing that Egyptian women prove every day their ability to bear national and social responsibility as an active partner in Egyptian society.

Dr. Ayman Mukhtar, said that His Excellency President El-Sisi pays great attention to empowering women, since the first day he aimed to empower them in leadership positions in various state agencies. During his reign, she held multiple positions, starting from the position of minister and governor, all the way to the heads of various sectors and departments, in a precedent that the Egyptian state had never witnessed before. He added that the governorate worked to empower women in all leadership and various administrative positions, starting with the position of city heads, deputy city heads, and department directors within the general office of the governorate and local units, in implementation of the directives of His Excellency the President of the Republic.

Mukhtar also said that for a woman to have a prominent role in leadership, she must have knowledge of the basics of successful leadership, in addition to working and acquiring new, wide-ranging experiences through training and exposure to everything new in management and leadership sciences.

Major General Ihab Hamed said that the National Training Academy is working to implement the directives of His Excellency President El-Sisi to qualify for leadership within Egypt’s Vision 2030 and to achieve the international sustainable development goals so that we have promising leaders to manage state institutions professionally aiming to build the new republic. He added that we are keen to provide training programs at a high level of professionalism to qualify women for leadership in the governorates through four integrated work axes, namely (political empowerment and enhancing the leadership role of women - economic empowerment - social empowerment - protection).

It is noteworthy that the activities of the introductory symposium on the “Women Lead in the Egyptian Governorates” program included a presentation on the role of the National Training Academy and the various training courses it provides, in addition to the role of the Academy in training and qualifying women, and that the Academy trained 65 new female judges in the Egyptian courts and the first 11 female public prosecutors in the history of Egypt.

The “Women Lead in the Egyptian Governorates” program aims to qualify women in the Egyptian governorates for the purpose of empowering them socially, economically, and politically to participate in construction, advance development, and positive participation in their communities. The program provides a diverse training package of administrative and personal skills to develop their abilities in leadership, project management, and entrepreneurship, in addition to identifying the most important developments in information technology and digital transformation. The program includes an awareness focus on the goals of sustainable development and the main axes of Egypt’s Vision 2030. The program is available to Egyptian women from all sectors (governmental - public - private - female entrepreneurs).

It should be pointed out that the conditions for admission are:

1- The applicant must be of Egyptian nationality.

2- The applicant must reside in Egypt.

3- The applicant must have a university qualification.

4- The age of the applicant must be between 22 and 50 years.

5- Passing the personal interview and a package of tests.
